MOCK-UP TRAINING FOR CIVIL AVIATION CABIN SERVICES PROGRAM STUDENTS
Students of Civil Aviation Cabin Services Program, Vocational School, Izmir University of Economics (IUE), completed their mock-up training at Turkish Airlines (THY) Flight Training Center. Second year students, who completed 2017-2018 academic year education at THY’s cutting-edge training center, experienced emergency situations such as in-flight fires, aircraft decompression, emergency landing, landing gear failure, etc. with realistic flight simulators.
Burçin Önder, Director of IUE Vocational School, reported that students were involved in real life scenarios in passenger cabins about saving passengers during an emergency landing on sea or land. “Students received applied training on theoretical information such as evacuating the plane after emergency landing. Each student learned how to properly open and close the doors of Boeing B 737 and Airbus A 320 planes. In addition to receiving in-class training for two years, flight attendant candidates top their training off with these mock-up trainings, and get ready for professional life,” said Önder.
