‘Can I become a fashion designer?’
Prof. Dr. Elvan Özkavruk Adanır, Head of IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design, stated that they aimed to organize a contest in order to find out about the interests of secondary education students in fashion and textile design, and to reveal their creativity. Prof. Dr. Özkavruk Adanır indicated that they wanted to do this through an entertaining contest, and she stated the following:
“We want to encourage their original thoughts and work that matches today’s design concept. We aimed to support their interest and creativity in this field, and reveal the future designers. Contests as such are usually held for university students. As the Department, we would like to help students make decisions before they choose their careers. We wanted them to challenge themselves in a fun way whether they want to work in this field or not. We are hoping to see male applicants as much as females.”
