President Ekrem Demirtaş pointed out that the students were trained in an entrepreneurship culture at Izmir University of Economics, and he said, “Entrepreneurship is not possible through courage only. Our students need to have a strong background as well as having an innovative vision. Today I am convinced that the achievements of our graduates and the awards they receive proves that we are on the right path. Now, they are able to tell the new generations what an innovative idea means.”
‘Digital Lottery’
The students had a chance to display their innovative ideas through designs such as heater for breast milk, electrical water dispenser, bathtub for elderly, etc. Utku Namlıses, student of IUE Department of Industrial Design, offers a chance to play digital lottery with his Lotto RGB named project. He said that the technology offered access to everything for mobile users. "Virtual interfaces replace the physical shops, papers, and cashiers. I thought that there is a young population who learns about lottery games quickly but these are not easily accessible by them. Lottery games have been around for a long time with the same principality. Even though filling in the columns with lucky numbers is still popular, in the digital world we live in, I wanted people to try this out by using colours and shapes with my project “stated Namlıses.
Namlıses said that each of the digital colours is identified as a combination of red, green, and blue between 0 and 255. He stated the following about the game:
"Three colours combined together represents one colour and is reflected upon the screen we are in interaction with. The game is basically for a player to choose a colour based on these trio colour code, and try to match it with the colour that comes out as a drawing held periodically."
