IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS WILL HELP SHAPE THEIR FUTURE
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) is helping the students make realistic and conscious university choices with experienced experts after a difficult exam period. The experts, in addition to 45 students and all academic units, will be guiding the prospective university students at IUE Conference Hall where 15 guidance and information tables set up. As the results have been announced, Ekrem Demirtaş, President of IUE Board of Trustees, met the very first prospective student himself and told them to go after their dreams.
The students will be mentored on careers based on their interests during the “Izmir University of Economics Promotion Days” event. The event, which will last until July 17, will also provide counselling services at cities other than Izmir for the first time.
Izmir Economics at Aydın, Manisa, Denizli, and Muğla
Counselling services will be provided at Public Education Centre in Denizli on July 7, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Culture Centre in Muğla on July 8, Aydın Culture Centre on July 9, and Manisa Culture Centre on July 10 at 11.00 – 17.00. Same services will also be provided at https://www.ieu.edu.tr/tr and call centre at 444 49 38, in addition to presentations to be conducted at IUE Room M01 during the work days at 11.00 – 16.00. IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen and university students will be making presentations in two sessions. Prospective students will also get answers to their questions about the university through “Hocama Sor (Ask the Mentor)” Facebook application.
‘Indecisive students will get help’
Prospective students will be informed about 8 faculties, 36 undergraduate and 17 associate programs within the University in addition to vocational schools and, “Fashion and Textile Design” and “Culinary Arts and Management” departments that admit students through aptitude tests. Students will be guided in making the right decisions about their future careers who are unsure about which path they want to follow. They will also be briefed about USA-SUNNY dual diploma programs offered in 7 undergraduate programs, ERASMUS student Exchange programs with 120 universities abroad, and academic collaborations with 27 universities.
‘Make a conscious decision for a happy future’
President Ekrem Demirtaş stated that they provided counselling services so the prospective students and their families can make conscious choices. He said, “Expert guidance counsellors and volunteer students share information with prospective students. Those, who cannot come to the University, can have access to detailed information at the University web page. However, we would like to see the prospective students and their families here, at the University. We will provide counselling services in Aydın, Manisa, Denizli, and Muğla as well.”
