60’S ARE BACK

This winter will be a colourful one with new fashion trends. Furs, capes, feathers and shearling are among this season’s collection with a touch of sixties. Özge Dikkaya Göknur, Lecturer at Izmir University of Economics, Faculty of Arts and Design, Department of Fashion and Textile Design, stated that clean lines, cocoon silhouettes were prominent in 2014/2015 winter fashion shows that took place at fashion capitals as Paris New York, London, etc. She said that this season’s theme was wrapping up against the cold.
Göknur indicated that sixties optical illusions and graphical designs, and flashes of shining gold would be dominant in apparel. “We will be seeing miniskirts, trapeze dresses, patent Mary-Jane shoes, graphic bobs and pastel colours paid tribute to the baby doll style presenting a fresh, carefree take on the Swinging Sixties London this season,” reported Göknur.
Faux Fur Apparel in Fashion!
Göknur stated that black and white graphics and colourful geometric patterns as well as vibrant colours and shimmering tones would be leading trend this season. Furs, capes, feathers were the main elements of this fall and winter, and that all kinds and length of fur would make a mark on this season, Göknur said. One of the most prominent trends for winter was the comfortingly soft, full look in wool in pastel colours, and duvet coats, remarked Göknur.
