GRADUATE DEGREE: WAY TO IMPROVE CAREER
Izmir University of Economics (IUE), started enrollments for master’s and Ph.D. programs for spring semester for youth and professionals who want to hold a graduate diploma and choose a different path for their careers. Students will get a chance to improve themselves on a wide variety of subjects from electronics engineering to finance, from logistics management to health institutions management offered with thesis or non-thesis options as well as distance learning.
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen stated that the informative meeting for Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences would be held on January 19 and for Graduate School of Social Sciences on January 20 at 18.30 at Balçova Campus. He said that applications would take place between the dates of January 19 – 23, 2015, and pointed that thanks to distance learning programs students would receive education without having to be present at the university physically.
Prof. Dr. Esen indicated that in Business Administration Distance Education Graduate Program (e-MBA), all courses were taught on the internet and live. “We maintain our innovative approach. A new search is under way in higher education for a while now. We try to tend to the needs of the new generation. There is great demand and shortfall for graduate degree worldwide and in Turkey. We are working hard to ensure a quality education for our country,” told the Rector.
‘Graduate Degree Offers an Important Chance’
We bring the academicians and the students together in a virtual classroom by using technological means, stated Prof. Dr. Esen and he said that Turkey has entered into a period of a demographic window of opportunity. Prof. Dr. Esen reported the following:
“We’ve entered a period where economically active population is at its peak and dependent population at its lowest. We’ve entered this period in 2010 and it will continue until 2040, and later the gap will close. As IUE, we are taking this process into consideration. We undertake the responsibility of educating the whole society through our graduate programs, lifelong learning programs. That’s why we call it ‘lifelong education’. We attach particular importance to graduate education. It offers an important opportunity for professionals to refresh their knowledge and learn about recent developments and progress in their career paths.”
