Izmir University of Economics became the only partner of Kyoto University, 9 Nobel Awards holder, in graduate education level in Turkey. IUE Graduate students will be able to take a semester at Graduate School of Management Sciences at Kyoto University, and Kyoto University graduate students likewise will be able to pursue their graduate education at Izmir University of Economics. Additionally, academicians of both universities will be able to support education through exchange as well.
IUE Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Esen stated that the University, while educating entrepreneurial graduates as a mission, is increasing collaborations with the leading academic institutions in different parts of the world. Prof. Dr. Esen indicated that they worked to provide leading and innovative graduate education for their students following their undergraduate education. He said, “We added another partner to our global network, and signed a graduate level student and academician exchange protocol with Kyoto University (Japan), one of the reputable universities worldwide with 9 Nobel awards. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz Atik, Lecturer at IUE Faculty of Business, conducted lectures on marketing at Kyoto University last year, which has set the first step of IUE-Kyoto bilateral relations and allowed our students to pursue education in Japan for a semester.”
’Getting Our Students Ready for 21st Century Citizenship’
Rector Prof. Dr. Esen, who reported that the University started to conduct its education and research activities increasingly in an international platform, stated the following:
“On one hand, more foreign students and academicians come to our university; on the other hand, our students and faculty get integrated with more worlds. Our campus has become more cosmopolitan as a result of our endeavors on this issue. Our international students from five continents, 62 countries help enrich our campus life. All our attempts to create multi-dimensional, multi-cultural learning environments prepare our students for 21st Century Citizenship.”
