IDEAS THAT ROCK THE WORLD
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) brought together all graduate and doctorate programs in business administration and finance within the newly established IUE Graduate School of Business. The school offers MBA, Master of Finance, Executive MBA (English/Turkish), e-MBA, Masters of Management and Managerial Development, and Business Ph.D. and Finance Ph.D.
The first introductory meeting for the school, which currently accepts applications, will take place on June 24 at Izmir University of Economics. Also, first round application for Graduate School of Business, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences, and Graduate School of Social Sciences will end on July 9. Second round applications will take place on July 15-September 3.
Prof. Dr. Serdar Özkan, Vice Director of IUE Graduate School of Business, and Head of Department of Business Administration, stated that the post-graduate programs were redesigned and new programs were added. Prof. Dr. Özkan said, “We redesigned post-graduate programs based on the feedback from our students, graduates, and the business world. We took not only the new graduates, but young prospective managers in family businesses as well as experienced managers in the sector into consideration when redesigning our programs.” This year Executive MBA Program became modular, said Prof. Dr. Özkan, and reported that more than 50 new elective modules were identified and got enriched by Harvard University cases.
‘International Diploma and Business World’
Prof. Dr. Özkan indicated that they started their masters programs with ‘Ideas That Rock the World’ theme. He said, “We focused on keywords such as entrepreneurship, critical thinking, social responsibility, work ethics, social and environmental awareness, and network development. Our graduates are not issued international diplomas only; they are given the chance to get together with employees of many local and foreign-partnered companies which make up the basis of Izmir business world at the same time.”
