GETTING READY FOR FUTURE
Students of Izmir University of Economics completed their studies in 7 semesters. Büşra Çetmen, student of Department of International Trade and Finance, and Merve Aytan, student of Department of Business Administration, completed their undergraduate education in 3.5 years, and decided to enter the business life.
Büşra Çetmen stated that she started her undergraduate study at IUE Department of Fashion and Textile Design but transferred to Department of International Trade and Finance later on. She said, “My mathematical intelligence outweighed and since we had a family business I wanted to focus on international trade as a future career. I was able to take 2 additional courses because my GPA was high, and I was able to take 3 courses at summer school and graduated in 3.5 years.”
Çetmen said that the she thought about getting Master’s degree in marketing and enlarging the family business.
‘Focusing on the Goal’
Merve Aytan stated that she qualified for a merit scholarship for 3 years, and she aimed to complete her studies in a short time and was able to reach that goal. Aytan said, “Completing a 4 year study in 3.5 years have to do with knowing what you want and working hard to accomplish that goal. I would like to continue graduate studies as I consider possible career opportunities.”
