INTERNATIONAL MASTER’S DEGREE BY IUE
“Master in East Central Europe Region Studies” program was established in Turkey, Finland, Estonia, and Romania thanks to international collaborations of Izmir University of Economics.
20 students will specialize in energy security and geopolitics in the program co-developed by IUE Department of Sustainable Energy from Turkey, Universities of Helsinki and Oulu from Finland, University of Tartu, and University of Targoviste, Romania. Graduates will be issued one international diploma certified by 5 universities. Courses will take place at University of Targoviste in Romania, and students will be able to specialize in history of politics, cold war era, international relations, environment and sustainable development, etc.
‘International Diploma from 5 Universities’
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Efe Biresselioğlu, Head of IUE Department of Sustainable Energy, stated that the program was funded by Romania Government, and it would start admitting students for the first this year. He said, “It is anticipated that the program, in parallel with its progress, would also be funded by EU funds in coming years. About 20 participants from different countries for each academic year will help provide a multi-national, multi-cultural structure. Those, who successfully complete the program, will be issued an international diploma certified by 5 universities.”
‘Bright Career’
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Biresselioğlu reported that the graduates would be able to pursue their careers as consultants, political analysts, and diplomats in addition to being academicians specialized in East Central Europe at universities. Biresselioğlu also said that the courses would be lectured by faculty members of the 5 universities.
