TOUCH OF DESIGN ON BLOOD PRESSURE MONITOR
High blood pressure will not be an issue anymore. People will be able to measure their blood pressure at shopping malls, in public areas and take precaution thanks to “Bufmatik”, blood pressure monitor designed by Burçin Şimşek, student at IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Department of Industrial Design.
Şimşek reminded that one out of 3 people had high blood pressure issue in today’s world, and she hoped to make checking blood pressure a habit for people. She said that she regarded her study as a social responsibility project. Şimşek said, “I came up with this project because blood pressure needs to be checked at least 3 times a day and so many times it is not possible to do so due to time, place restrictions. I designed a blood pressure monitor that is easily accessible by people at public places such as shopping malls, business centers, schools, universities, subway, etc. People will be able to check their blood pressure and pulse free of charge.”
‘Easy Use’
Şimşek stated that she came up with a simple yet effective design for all ages. One needs to put their wrist in the monitor and turn it on, and the blood pressure and pulse would appear on the screen, said Şimşek.
