PARENTS WILL BE ABLE TO REACH THEIR KIDS
Parents’ ‘where is my child?’ question will be answered. Entrepreneurial students of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) developed software informing parents about their children’s whereabouts so that they can find relief.
The project titled, ‘ChildCare’, developed by Ahmet Atatoprak, Berk Arslan, Utku Duman, students of IUE Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Mert Türel, student of IUE Software Engineering, with the support of Embryonix Technology Transfer Office, will especially identify whereabouts of school aged children between 3 – 10. The Bluetooth technology attached on children’s clothing will allow parents to know when their children are at home, school, or on school bus.
‘Does Not Pose a Risk to Health’
3rd grade student Ahmet Atatoprak gave information about the system and he said, “We are creating a wearable technology. There is a small chip. The child will be able to carry it easily on clothing or on accessories such as wristband. We use Bluetooth technology. Bluetooth transmitter will be placed at school, home, school bus and when the child enters these places, the receiver the child wears will match the information and parents will receive a message. It does not pose a health risk for children since GSM technology is not used.”
‘Wearable Technology’
Atatoprak reported that the system would ease the worries of parents. He said that that they did not use a system like GSM with high radiation in their wearable technology.
