Prof. Dr. Elvan Özkavruk Adanır gave information about the event and she said 963 works of art applied and only 221 works of art were accepted. Özkavruk said, “We created sample of fiber art by using textile technique. I used shibori technique in my artwork titled, ‘And the Life Begins’. I created a felt combined with wool and silk, and used it in weaving. My artwork represents the beginning of life. I got inspired by mother’s womb. I feel much honored to be representing Turkey among 50 countries”.
‘Unhappy faces gave inspiration’
Lecturer Jovita Kurnaz said that she used needle felt, wet felt, and weaving in her, ‘God of Lonesome’ titled 3 D artwork. “I combined felt with weaving. I got inspired by the misery and unhappiness on people’s faces, and created a sculpture,” said Kurnaz.
