IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS WELCOMES NEW STUDENTS WHO WILL SHAPE THE FUTURE
Izmir University of Economics is excited to welcome two thousand 220 new students based on the undergraduate placement results announced by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Centre). Izmir University of Economics, with one thousand 506 undergraduate and 714 associate program placements, will be educating students who will shape the future.
Ekrem Demirtaş, President of IUE Board of Trustees, stated that Izmir Economics, first foundation university of Aegean Region, did not get off track toward achieving its goal to train contemporary, entrepreneurial youth since its establishment. President Demirtaş reminded that the University, in its 15th success year, followed Ataturk’s path and graduated 10 thousand 500 students who are dedicated to the values of the country, the secular republic, and Ataturk’s principles wholeheartedly. Demirtaş said they were proud to welcome new students who would be shaping the future of Turkey and the world.
President Demirtaş stated that the University expanded and carried on the path of success even stronger each year with its new students. He said, “I would like to express my gratitude to 2 thousand 220 prospective students who preferred to shape their future at Izmir Economics, and to their families. Currently, the University offers education at 8 faculties, 35 departments. And we will continue to do so without sacrificing any of the values of our Republic for a democratic and modern Turkey. We are producing successful graduates for our country first, and then for the rest of the world. All our classrooms are turned into smart classrooms. The system allows students to keep up with the classes they missed online. They can review the recorded courses whenever they want. Our students are able to have access to information on demand.”
‘Reversing the brain drain’
President Demirtaş, who stated that they would be preparing 2 thousand 220 students with vision for future, and train entrepreneurial, assertive young individuals who can make a difference, said the following:
“The University shifted its focus on science, economy, health, and technology. Our new students will also receive training in foreign language. They will be ready to serve our country and world as highly self-confident, entrepreneurial youth who can utilize knowledge. They will reverse brain drain, and fulfill our dream of training entrepreneurial and innovative graduates. We will continue to produce entrepreneurial graduates for Izmir labor market as well as world market with our new departments and programs.”
