NEW COLLABORATION IN HEALTH
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) and Private Medifema Hospital signed a protocol on education collaboration. Med students of Izmir University of Economics will get hands-on training and perform their internship at the hospital. Ekrem Demirtaş, President of IUE Board of Trustees, Ali Yiğit, CHP Izmir Representative, Specialist Dr. Aslan Savaşan, Member of IUE Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Can Muğan, IUE Rector, Prof. Dr. Hakan Abacıoğlu, Dean of IUE Faculty of Medicine, Meryem Yiğit, Shareholder of the Hospital, and Specialist Dr. Fatih İnmez, Chief Physician attended the protocol ceremony at Private Medifema Hospital in Torbalı.
President Demirtaş and Meryem Yiğit signed the protocol which aims for an academic and professional collaboration between the two institutions. The protocol will allow students of IUE Faculty of Health Sciences and Vocational School of Health Services to get hands-on training and perform their internship at the hospital.
“Receive an important share from health tourism”
President Ekrem Demirtaş, in his speech at the ceremony said, "This is a moment to remember for both institutions. Medifema built a good reputation in a very short time. The Hospital takes the load off of Menderes Region. Izmir University of Economics intends to contribute to the health vision of Izmir. We will receive an important share from Turkey’s health tourism. How is health tourism carried out? With health care professionals fluent in foreign languages. This is where the University steps in. This collaboration will also contribute to the vision of Medifema".
“Important Collaboration”
CHP Izmir Representative Ali Yiğit stated that Medifema Hospital was one of the most important hospitals in the region. Yiğit said, “Izmir University of Economics is a well-known, respected university nationwide. I have a high opinion of the collaboration between these two well-respected institutions.”
Chief Physician Fatih İnmez pointed that the Hospital was progressing continuously for the past 4 years and the collaboration would carry them one step further.
“IUE is in a breakthrough”
Prof. Dr. Hakan Abacıoğlu reminded that the University was going through an important breakthrough process recently, and he said, “The University continues to take firm steps in the field of health. Soon the whole country and the world will hear about our efforts. We are extremely happy about this collaboration.”
