‘FASHION LOVES ART’
Senior students of Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics, will be completing their education journey with “Fashion Loves Art” titled fashion show. IUE students will be display the ready-to-wear clothing they designed based on the theme fashion loves art at the graduation fashion Show on June 5 at 21.00 at IUE Ceremony Field.
Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, Dean of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, stated that the students, in addition to receiving theoretical and practical courses, got a chance to enrich their point of view by means of various different activities, and the graduation fashion show enabled students to display their products. Prof. Dr. Bulgun said that students’ 2017 graduation collections focused on possible impacts of 20th century art on fashion design, and they combined it with ready-to-wear clothing.
‘90 pieces by 9 students’
Prof. Dr. Bulgun, who reported that fashion and art reflected radical changes worldwide via unique expressions, said “Students studied an artist or a 20th century art period. Their experimental collection in fall semester turned into ready-to-wear clothing collection. Their collection took styles, seasons, and target groups into consideration. 9 students prepared a 90-piece collection. Akif Örük choreographed the fashion show”.
