IZMIR UNIVERSITY OF ECONOMICS WELCOMES 1912 NEW STUDENTS
Izmir University of Economics is excited to welcome 1.912 new students based on the undergraduate placement results announced by OSYM (Student Selection and Placement Centre). According to OSYM, Izmir University of Economics, with 1.273 undergraduate and 639 associate program placements, will be educating students that will shape the future.
Ekrem Demirtaş, President of Izmir University of Economics (IUE) Board of Trustees, stated that Izmir Economics, the first Foundation University of the Aegean Region, did not get off track toward achieving its goal to train contemporary, entrepreneurial youth since the very first day of its establishment. President Demirtaş reminded that the University, in its 16th success year, graduated 12 thousand 102 students who are dedicated to the values of the country, and sent them off to their new careers. Demirtaş said they were proud to welcome new students who would be shaping the future of Turkey and the world.
President Demirtaş stated that the University took its rightful place in the academic world by getting stronger each year with its new students. He said, “I would like to express my gratitude to 1912 prospective students who preferred to shape their future at Izmir Economics, and to their families. Currently, the University offers education at 8 faculties with 35 undergraduate programs and 32 associate programs. And we will continue to do so without sacrificing any of the values of our Republic for a democratic and modern Turkey. We are producing successful graduates for our country first, and then for the rest of the world.”
‘Full confidence in students and academicians’
President Demirtaş, who stated that they would be preparing 1912 students with vision for future, and train entrepreneurial, assertive young individuals who can make a difference, said the following:
“The University shifted its focus on science, economy, health, and technology. We have an investment plan for the next 5 years for 500 million TL. We will be spending this large amount for the future of our country and for our youth. Our new students will also receive training in foreign language. They will be ready to serve our country and the world as highly self-confident, entrepreneurial youth who can utilize knowledge. They will reverse brain drain, and fulfill our dream of training entrepreneurial and innovative graduates. I have full confidence that we will do what it takes for our country to provide added value with technology. I have confidence in our students and academicians.”
