‘SUPPORTING ENTREPRENEURS’
Young entrepreneurs of Izmir University of Economics will be supported for building and expanding a culture of entrepreneurship. Izmir University of Economics (IUE) students Akile Ekin Dönmez, from Department of Industrial Engineering, and Niyazi Atahan Yılmaz, from Department of Civil Engineering, made it among the 40 people selected for the 4th Fellow Program of Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation. 112 thousand students across the nation applied for this program.
Dönmez and Yılmaz, who were evaluated on “Resume Assessment”, “Motivational Video”, “Enneagram Personality Test”, “Visual Test”, and “Interview” stages before they were accepted, will be trained as entrepreneurs. During their training, Dönmez and Yılmaz will meet with experienced entrepreneurs and attend trips abroad, they will benefit from scholarship opportunities with the network.
Industrial engineering student Akile Ekin Dönmez indicated that they were very happy to be selected among thousands of students. Dönmez said, “We receive entrepreneurship based training at Izmir University of Economics. I am very eager to work in projects at Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation with many young friends and with people whom I got inspired by. We are going to do our best to expand the inspiration we get from Turkish Entrepreneurship Foundation at our university.”
Civil engineering student Niyazi Atahan Yılmaz stated that they were going to be trained and develop projects under the mentorship of leading business people and entrepreneurs of Turkey. Yılmaz said, “We went through a rough period of interview process that lasted for 5 months, but the real deal begins now. Our biggest goal will be to inform people about entrepreneurship ecosystem after we receive our training. We strongly suggest all young people with entrepreneurial skills who are seeking inspiration, to apply to this program”.
