Qualified workforce meets with leading companies
The 15th “Career Days” event, organized by Izmir University of Economics (IUE), brings all university students and leading companies together. While students will be able to meet the representatives of 58 national and international companies, the companies will have access to qualified workforce firsthand.
The qualified workforce, demanded by the business world, comes together with the sector at IUE. 58 national and international companies set up booths/tables at the Conference Hall as part of the 15th Career Days event. The event, which is open to all university students until March 7, will create opportunities for those who want to establish a communication network for internship and employment. Simge Atamer, Coordinator of IUE Career Guidance Center, gave information about the event. Atamer said, “Students and graduates will be able to visit the company booths and get information about hiring process, internship, etc. IUE Career Days event also welcomes the students of other universities. We will bring the demanded qualified workforce in the sector this year, just as we did in the previous years. This is a good opportunity not only for our students but for the participating companies as well. They get a chance to meet the prospective qualified workforce ahead of time, and introduce their companies to large masses. During these one-on-one job interviews, all skills of the candidates, in addition to their CV’s, are being assessed.” Atamer, who pointed out the importance of communication experience in the beginning of the work life, said, “Our students and graduates get a chance to expand their communication channels by meeting each other and leading companies in the sector. Students’ interview experience increases, their communication skills improve and they get many of their questions answered face-to-face. All university students are welcome to attend the Career Days between the hours of 10.00 – 16.00 until March 7.”
