Izmir University of Economics (IUE), ranked among the first 101 – 200 universities worldwide to contribute to the society most under the “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, “Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure”, “Sustainable Cities and Communities” areas in University Impact Rankings 2019 held by the Times Higher Education (THE), London based leading provider of higher education data for the world's research-led institutions.
The Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings are the only global performance tables that assess universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Times Higher Education assessed data of more than 450 from 74 countries.
IUE Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Murat Aşkar, who stated that the University Impact Rankings was being held for the first time this year, said, “Our University has a dynamic and success-oriented nature. With this dynamic nature, we engage in scientific studies that will bring value to Izmir, where the University is located at. Students’ projects based on their imaginations, add more value to our city. We raise entrepreneurial, innovative young people. Our University, which was established by Izmir Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation, ranked in this University Impact Rankings for both its contribution to the city it is located at, and the high quality education it provides for its students.
