End of year fashıon show by new graduates
Seniors of Department of Fashion and Textile Design, Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Izmir University of Economics (IUE) will complete their education journey with a graduation fashion show, which will take place on 31 May at 21.00 at IUE Ceremony Field. Students will display their collections of ready-to-wear clothing that are inspired by the German Bauhaus School to celebrate the school’s 100th anniversary.
79 unique designs of 21 students will be showcased on the runway by IUE student models. Before the fashion show, projects of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design 2018-2019 Academic Year Graduates will be exhibited at 19.30. Over 200 graduation projects prepared by seniors of departments of Industrial Design, Fashion and Textile Design, Visual Communication Design, Architecture, and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design will be showcased.
‘Reflection of Bauhaus École to present’
Prof. Dr. Ender Yazgan Bulgun, Dean of IUE Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, stated that the fashion show would take place right after the graduation exhibition of the students. “4th year students prepared for the fashion show in design studio course under the guidance of Lecturer Jörn Fröhlich. 4th year fashion design students were inspired by famous works of the Bauhaus School, which was founded in 1919 in Germany, and they will present designs that addresses an international contemporary understanding. 68 collections prepared by 10 students will be on the runway. Also, our junior students, under the guidance of Asst. Prof. Şölen Kipöz, will display their designs as part of the design studio course,” said Bulgun.
