Continuous Scholarship Support By Izmir Universitey of Economics
Izmir University of Economics (IUE) supports its students with “uninterrupted scholarship” so they can reach their goals. Students and prospective students of Izmir University of Economics will be able to pursue their academic goals without worrying their scholarship will be terminated. They will be eligible for scholarship throughout the education period allowed by the Higher Education Council (YOK).
Prof. Murat Borovalı, Consultant to IUE Board of Trustees (General Coordinator) stated that they were the first foundation university to provide uninterrupted scholarship in the Aegean Region. Borovalı said, “Our priority is to provide good quality of education to our more than 10 thousand students, including the newcomers, and prepare them for the future. Scholarships awarded to students will not be terminated as of fall semester of 2019. They will enjoy continuous scholarship for 4 years in associate, 7 years in undergraduate programs, and 9 years in Faculty of Medicine. Scholarships, which are also valid for 2 years in Foreign Language Preparatory Program, will support the academic studies of students. This way, students will be able to engage in doing double major, minor programs, internship, going on Erasmus, without the fear of losing their scholarship.”
‘City’s potential will increase’
Prof. Borovalı pointed that Izmir’s appeal, as a city to live in and work at, was increasing day by day, and the city would become the leading power with the energy of Izmir University of Economics. Prof. Borovalı also indicated that in addition to continuous scholarship and full tuition scholarship, they would continue to support students with 75%, 50%, and 25% scholarship offers.
City Dynamics are on Campus Izmir
Prof. Borovalı, who said that first-degree relatives of the members of Izmir Chamber of Commerce were also provided 25% scholarship, stated the following:
“Besides providing the best quality of associate and undergraduate education to the students of Izmir University of Economics, we want to increase the capacity and technological infrastructure of this city. We, as the University, have the energy to make this happen. Campus Izmir is a synergy created by the initiative of Izmir Chamber of Commerce and the potential of our city. Qualified companies, high technology bases, logistics and export centers in the city are now a part of our campus. We now harbor the city dynamics on our campus. We want our students to have more flexible schedule about subjects such as double major, minor, internship, etc.”
